Tapaz, Capiz and its Secret

They said Capiz is the land of the ghosts and witches...

I beg to disagree... This is the birth land of my Mother and I have not seen any.

I've been here a couple of times, first was in 1992 with my Parents and my younger brother. It was a nice travel back then and I was only 8 years old. Nagbarko lang kami noon which was an excruciating 18 hours of travelling sa pusod ng dagat. I am so thrilled to see how huge the ocean and was praying to see dolphins kaya lang mahiyain sila that time and the Islands oh my! Kaya noon I said to myself that when I grow up I'll go to some of those Islands kahit na hindi ko alam saan yun. When we are able to set foot sa pier goodness it took us another 2 hours of travel from the pier to the town proper of Tapaz. From there we rode the habal habal, I was so excited that we were crossing the rivers and we passed by a few mountains while I was holding Manong driver's shirt cause I am so afraid na mahulog ako. We spent the entire summer vacation there, since hindi pa uso ang internet and cellphones noon hindi ako masyadong bored. At clear pa ang tubig sa ilog so yeah, happy-ing happy ako.

Next visit was in 2003, we went there during holy week, no TV, no SUN signal and no FRIENDSTER! talk about being bored! yeah that was me. We spent 2 weeks there and I am in my most bored state and it felt that we were there for centuries na. No phone and internet! urgh, but yeah I am able to dip in the ocean located in Roxas City.

Man made Dam
Mama enjoying her fishing time
In November 2009 we went there to visit my grand father, all of us in the family felt that it would be Tatay's last. This time I visited that man made dam that the locals built. Sobrang lalim so I didn't get to enjoy it sa kadahilanang  hindi nga ako marunong lumangoy.

Justin's first airplane ride

So there, Tatay died December 16, 2009 and for his babang luksa we went there March 2010 (salamat sa piso fare CEBU PACIFIC) now with my son, youngest brother and Mama. It was Justin's first airplane ride and his first time to go there. We just stayed for a couple of nights cause of my work and my younger brother's school.

So that's 4 visits in total and I will definitely go back this time with husband dear.

Man made Dam turned into a resort
 TRAVEL BUDGET:
in 1992, I am only 8 so expect zero money spent;
in 2003, I'm a College Student so Mama shouldered everything including the pasalubong I bought for my friends;
in 2009, I spent P1,000.00 only cause Mama shouldered everything, of course for pasalubong lang yan;
in 2010, I spent P2,000.00 only, the fare only costs us P400.00 and its prepaid already by me! and since my Aunt lives there no charge for accommodation and food. The P2,000.00 is for the terminal fee going back to Manila and scoring some pasalubong.

Poor to Galera

This is my very first travel using my own hard earned money.

PUERTO GALERA it is!

Our First Night
It was either 2005 or 2006, with my teammates, exhausted na sa work so most of the peeps in the team decided to go on a holiday, ang pinaka malapit syempre Puerto Galera. I was uber excited then, kasi this will be my first major vacation and I will use my salary.
Short lang the vacation and if I remember it right, we left Saturday morning, loser much cause that’ll be the day where people will most likely get wasted, pero us, we need to pack our bags and go back to Manila cause we still have work at night.

----
It was our last day for the week; our out is at 2 in the afternoon. We have to rush to Batangas to catch the last outrigger boat going to the White Beach. Ang swerte lang naming cause the entire shift our system had bugged down so the entire floor is on petiks mode.
Pao, being the punong abala rented a van that will take us to Batangas Port. Woohhoooo saktong sakto lang. Nakahabol naman kami sa Bangka.

----
While on the boat: Afraid of the dark talaga ako, why? Kasi over loaded and boat, hindi naman kami binigyan ng life vest so the entire trip I was praying…

I’m not a swimmer e, gusto ko lang ung feeling ng dagat and ang sand kaya overly excited ako plaagi.

Alas! Nakatungtong nadin ako sa White Beach! Thank you Lord!!!

-----
What we did in the Island is already blur in my rusted brain. What I can clearly remember is that, napatumba ako ng Mindoro Sling. I felt there was an earthquake, and I was vomiting with no effort at all. Naka akap lang ako sa bowl and viola! Effortless talaga!

----
Activities? They have a lot to offer but we only tried the Banana Boat, si Manong tinaob nya the Banana Boat and sya din nangunsumi, dadhil wala kaming mga lakas at mga langong lango pa, inabot kami ng 15 minutes para sumampa ulit so hindi na nya inulit yun hehehe...

----
Going back? Yes I would love to… but then I have this motto J once I set foot I will never go back kasi I still have a lot to go to… but of course! I will go back one bullet day.

TRAVEL BUDGET:  P3,000 for 3 days and 2 nights with pasalubongs and all na yan promise!
